  Rare Barrel Aged Beer Tapping

Got Wood? this week we decided to tap three very tasty yet very different barrel aged beers.
 
Kegs we wil be tapping include...
 
Brooklyn Black Ops
"Barrel-aged in Woodford Reserve barrels. Brooklyn Black Ops does not exist. However, if it did exist, it would be a robust stout concocted by the Brooklyn brewing team under cover of secrecy and hidden from everyone else at the brewery. Supposedly, "Black Ops" was aged for four months in bourbon barrels, bottled flat, and re-fermented with Champagne yeast, creating big chocolate and coffee flavors with a rich underpinning of vanilla-like oak notes. They say it’s vanishingly rare. We have no idea what they’re talking about"
 
Sierra Nevada Trip in the Woods Barrel Aged Narwhal with Currants
"We aged this rich, chocolatey imperial stout in bourbon barrels with a mix of both red currants and black currants for a pop of sweet and tart flavor. The deep, roasty notes of the stout blend well with the berries and barrels to create complex flavors of cocoa and coconut with a mellow fruit undertone."
 
Firestone Helldorado
"An Imperial Blonde Ale or Blonde Barley Wine; Helldorado has the lightest color of any of the beers in our barrel program but carries a great deal of interesting barrel character: vanilla, light char and amazing lavender-honey notes. Rich boozy honey liqueur character and loads of smooth sweet toasted malt to finish. The El Dorado hops dance in the background without playing a dominant role in the flavor profile. This beer gets better and better the longer it is in barrel."

 Columbia Cabernet Sauvignon
“Our Cabernet Sauvignon is made to showcase the ripe dark fruit flavors Washington can produce in an approachable style. With layers of complexity, this wine has a firm structure and smooth tannins that lead to a broad mouthfeel and soft, juicy finish. Notes of mocha and toffee complement the ripe blackberry and black currant flavors.
75% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Mourvedre, 7% Syrah, 7% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, 1% Malbec”

Columbia Merlot
“Our rich, full-bodied Columbia Winery Merlot opens with hallmark dark purple color and enticing aromas of plum, clove and baking spice. On the fruit-forward palate, dark fruit flavors of black cherry, wild blackberry and juicy plum are met with pronounced notes of sweet oak, vanilla and hints of mocha for a silky, textured mouthfeel. Notes of ripe raspberry and caramel linger on the generous finish"

 Columbia Red Blend
“Columbia Winery Red Blend is primarily a blend of Merlot and Syrah. Sourced from Washington’s finest growing regions, the supple Red Blend has a solid, fruit-forward foundation of fresh blackberry, cassis and blueberry flavors, with hints of ripe raspberry and red cherry. Soft, approachable tannins are enhanced on the medium-bodied palate with Syrah’s notes of pepper and clove, with a mouth-filling texture. Notes of vanilla, toasted oak and brown spice linger on the Red Blend’s long finish. 40% Merlot, 39% Syrah, 8% Cabernet Sauvignon, 7% Cabernet Franc, 6% Malbec”
